Amisfield Walled Garden is one of East Lothian's most charming hidden spots, offering a beautiful blend of history, nature and community spirit. Located on the outskirts of Haddington, this restored 18th-century walled garden has been lovingly brought back to life and features colourful planting, fruit and vegetable beds, wildflower areas, orchards and beautiful woodland surroundings. Originally created as part of the Amisfield Estate to provide fresh produce for the house, the garden is now a peaceful place to explore, relax and enjoy the outdoors. With its historic stone walls, traditional garden layout and tranquil setting, it's perfect for gentle walks, photography, picnics, fruit picking and discovering seasonal flowers and wildlife. The garden, managed by the Amisfield Preservation Trust and volunteers, offers a welcoming atmosphere where visitors can enjoy the beauty of the garden while supporting a project that celebrates local heritage, horticulture and conservation.
